Fortnite’s Secret Skirmish Event Offering $500k Prize Pool

It looks like Epic Games are going to raise the stakes a little with their first Fortnite esports event of the year with a $500k prize pool on the line. The announcement was made on the game’s official Twitter account this morning, promoting their upcoming Secret Skirmish with some minor details pointing to it being held in a secret location in mid-February.

Rumor has it that the event will be held in a classified, undisclosed testing facility on February 14th and 15th. Each match will be transmitted to our official channels. You can expect the same high-powered matches as TwitchCon and PAX, but also expect us to explore additional… operations… during the two days of competition. Keep a close eye on upcoming announcements as we uncover more details for this event.

If you’re a hardcore player, this is a must-attend tournament. Especially if you’re eyeing a spot in their 2019 World Cup Tournament. Details are to be released at a later date, but of course, they gave no warning as to when that would happen.
