GTA Online is experiencing outages in the wake of a free giveaway of GTA 5 on the Epic Games Store.

Rockstar Games is now warning of “extremely high player volumes” that is creating issues accessing GTA 5.

“Due to extremely high player volumes, we are currently experiencing issues with access to Rockstar Games Services including the Rockstar Games Launcher and GTAV for PC,” reads a tweet from Rockstar Support.

“We are actively working to resolve the issue and will keep you updated of any changes.”

While it’s largely unplayable for the minute, you still have a chance to at least grab the game for free on PC for the next few days. This month’s Epic Games Store Mega Sale runs from May 14-21 and gets you the Premium Edition of GTA 5, which offers additional content on top of the base game.

On that note, GTA Online just got a big update and we’ve written a guide to help you kick off the new Gerald missions. You can also turn into animals with our GTA Online peyote plant guide.
