New MSI 10th-Gen Gaming Desktops Revealed

0

MSI has announced its upcoming lineup of gaming desktops, including a couple in the Trident line that aim to be the size of a video game console as well as easy to upgrade. There are also a number of standard-sized gaming PCs if you’re not concerned about saving space in your office or living room. The five new desktops will be made available through late June and July, so if you’re looking for a new PC, then these may be worth keeping an eye on.

A number of the PCs can come equipped with the latest 10th-gen Core i9 processors and RTX 2080 Super graphics cards, though there are more budget-friendly options as well. You can see all of MSI’s upcoming gaming PCs below along with some of their specs. You can see a more detailed breakdown of what each desktop comes with on MSI’s website.

MPG Trident 3

Starts at $879; available in late June

The MPG Trident 3 can come equipped with up to a 10th-gen Core i7 processor, an RTX 2060 Super graphics card, and 16GB of RAM–though the Trident 3 only features two DDR4 RAM slots, so you’ll need to consider that if you plan on upgrading in the future. It also sports one M.2 SSD slot and one 2.5-inch slot for an extra HDD or SSD.

MEG Trident X

Starts at $2,299; available in late June

The MEG Trident X is the Trident 3’s bigger sister. Sporting a similar console-sized case, it can pack up to an i9-10900K processor, an RTX 2080 Super graphics card, and up to 64GB of RAM–like the Trident 3, it still only features two DDR4 slots. Thankfully, it does upgrade the number of storage slots: two M.2 SSD slots and 2.5-inch drive bays are now available to use.

Aegis R and Aegis RS

Start at $1,499 and $1,549 respectively; available in July

The Aegis R and RS desktops are sized more similarly to your standard gaming PC and come equipped with three RGB-lit fans on the front of the case. The Aegis R can boast up to a 10th-gen Core i7 processor, an RTX 2070 Super, and 16GB of RAM. The RS, on the other hand, packs a heavier punch with up to a 10th-gen Core i9 processor, an RTX 2080 Super, and 32GB of RAM–both desktops feature four DDR4 slots, so it’s easier to add more RAM than the Trident line.

Codex R

The Codex R is a standard-sized gaming PC for the more budget-minded gamer. However, that doesn’t mean it features low-end specs. It can come equipped with up to a 10th-gen Core i7 processor, RTX 2060 graphics card, and 16 GB of RAM.

The Aegis SE is MSI’s budget-friendly gaming PC at $799. It doesn’t come with high-end specs, but they’re still capable of running most modern games at decent settings–popular shooters like Fortnite and Valorant should excel on the Aegis SE. It comes with up to a 10th-gen Core i5 processor, an RTX 2060 graphics card, and 8GB of RAM with four DDR4 slots.
